Let CoolVan protect you from the ULEZ charges

September 12, 2023 / 0 Comments / 335 /

From August 29th the Ultra Low Emmision Zone or (ULEZ) has now expanded to now cover all London boroughs

This now means that if your Fridge Van doesn’t meet the ULEZ emission standards you could face a daily charge of £12.50, this also includes residents of the ULEZ as well as people entering the zone.

This expansion of ULEZ boundaries to include most of Greater London, combined with stricter emission standards, means that older vehicles are now facing the risk of hefty daily charges. This expansion has a significant impact on businesses that run temperature controlled vehicles within or through the ULEZ zone. Here’s why investing in a new refrigerated van could make sense:

1. Compliance with ULEZ Regulations
A new refrigerated van will meet current ULEZ emission standards, ensuring your business operates without incurring daily charges. Compliance is crucial to avoiding financial penalties and maintaining a positive reputation with your clients and partners.
2. Enhanced Efficiency and Reliability
Our new fridge vans come equipped with the latest technology and improved fuel efficiency. They are designed to minimize downtime and reduce maintenance costs, ensuring that your deliveries remain on schedule and your products arrive in optimal condition.
3. Environmental Responsibility
The focus on reducing emissions and improving air quality in London aligns with corporate social responsibility. By investing in newer, cleaner refrigerated vans, your business can showcase its commitment to environmental sustainability, which can be a selling point for clients who prioritize eco-friendly suppliers. You could even go that one step further and take a look at purchasing on of our Electric Fridge Vans which have started to become more and more popular especially around inner cities where electric vehicles really do come into their own.
4. Competitive Edge
Businesses that adapt to changing regulations and invest in modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly equipment often gain a competitive edge in the market. New refrigerated vans can set your business apart from competitors who may struggle to meet ULEZ standards with their older fleets.
5. Reduced Operating Costs
While the upfront cost of new refrigerated vans may seem substantial, it’s essential to consider the long-term benefits. These vans typically have lower operating costs due to their improved fuel efficiency and reduced maintenance requirements, leading to cost savings over time.
6. Meeting Client Demands
As consumer preferences shift toward sustainable and eco-friendly practices, many clients are actively seeking suppliers who can meet these criteria. Upgrading your fleet with new refrigerated vans can position your business to meet these evolving demands and attract clients who prioritize responsible transportation.

Conclusion
The changes to London’s ULEZ regulations offer a unique opportunity for businesses in the transportation and logistics sector to enhance their operations. Investing in new refrigerated vans not only ensures compliance with ULEZ standards but also offers efficiency, reliability, environmental responsibility, and a competitive edge.

Dual Temperature Fridge Vans for Sale UK

September 12, 2017 / 1 Comments / 2531 /

We are often asked the question. Can you build me a fridge van that will operate at both deep freeze and chill temperatures at the same time.

The answer is a big yes.

for a -18° Celsius deep freeze and 3° Chill dual temperature fridge van we would insulate the vehicle to a minimum thickness of 75mm throughout. A Hubbard or GAH Freezer unit will be fitted, we will then fit a fixed bulkhead or supply and fit a removable/moveable bulkhead depending on the customers preference. Both bulkheads will have a fan system fitted to them that draws the frozen air from the front freezer section into the rear chilled section, the fan system is run off a thermostat, so the temperature in the chill section can be regulated.

For more information on dual temperature fridge vans or to speak to us about any of the new refrigerated vans we have for sale, please contact us on 0845 33 11 484 or complete an online enquiry form here.

Optional Shelving

September 12, 2017 / 0 Comments / 2713 /

Here at CoolVan, we can fabricate all manner of different shelving systems. Popular shelves are our foldaway shelves, which give you an extra layer of storage where needed but can still be folded out of the way on the occasions you are pallet loading or stacking your product in your fridge van.

We have recently supplied a Renault Trafic fridge van to a customer which was chilled in the front section and ambient in the rear, the rear was then fitted with 3 display shelves and room for scales so the customer could serve the fish from the fridge van itself.

Optional Single Phase Standby

If you order the fridge system for your refrigerated van or freezer van with single phase standby, it will be supplied with a 10 metre power cable at no extra charge.

Optional Temperature Recorder For Your Fridge Van

September 12, 2017 / 0 Comments / 1617 /

Temperature Recorders are very popular with Courier companies, particularly those that transport Pharmaceuticals, we also are often asked to supply them to fridge vans that we supply to customers who deliver into supermarkets or school and hospitals.

The Transcan Sentinel comes with 1 probe as standard, this is usually situated under the evaporator in the refrigerated vehicle, customers can add a second sensor, which is normally situated at the rear of the van.

The temperature recorder can print off a report at the touch of a button, showing recorded temperatures in the fridge van from intervals of every 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending on your preference.

You can even add your company name and registration number of the fridge van to the printed receipt.

For more details on the optional temperature recorder, please contact us on 0845 33 11 484 or complete and enquiry form after clicking on the link here

Standard LED lighting

September 12, 2017 / 0 Comments / 1058 /

Every Refrigerated van, that is either supplied or converted by Coolvan, comes fitted with LED lighting in the fridge section of the van, these lights use the latest LED technology, with a high brightness light output and a long operational life.

2 LED lights are used if the vehicle is going to operate as a dual temperature fridge/ freezer van or if the vehicle is an extra long model.

Rather than have a seperate switch for the LED lights, which can be left on by accident, CoolVan will connect the LED lights to the original lights wiring. Which means the lights will come on when the doors of the fridge van are opened and go out when the doors are closed.

Optional Pallet Protection For Your Fridge Van

September 12, 2017 / 0 Comments / 1519 /

If you are regularly pallet loading in your fridge or freezer van, we recommend that you choose the optional pallet protection system, this consists of 3 chequer plate alloy strips fitted to the floor, chequer plate fitted around the wheel boxes and also fitted to the lower section of the bulkhead. Fitting this will add to the natural strength of the Coolvan conversion. It also looks great.

Fridge Van Meat Rail System

September 12, 2017 / 0 Comments / 3256 /

This is a 14 hook meatrail system, the hooks are made from stainless steel, fitted to a 50mm chill temperature fridge van conversion. The vehicle model in the photos is a Renault Master LM35 Dci 125. This system has to be incorporated into the build process as the roof of the vehicle needs to be reinforced in order to take the weight of the carcasses that would be hung.

Chequer plate is fitted to the lower half of the van, including the side and rear doors in order to protect from swinging hooves.

Please call us on 0845 33 11 484 for a quote to supply a vehicle to this specification, or complete an enquiry form here.
