Fridge and Conversion Specification
Ford's best-selling Transit van has set the standard in light commercial vehicles for decades and now it's available in a battery electric version.
In order to save energy and therefore improve the range of the vehicle, we have upgraded the insulation on this Ford E Transit refrigerated van, we have also included rear pod doors as standard meaning the fridge system will run less saving power, gaining range and dropping overall CO2 usage.
A wide variety of fridge systems are available – CoolVan always specifies the best fridge for the job but if you have your own preference of fridge system then we can quote accordingly. Our standard specification incorporates fridge systems from either Hubbard or GAH.
CoolVan determines chilled operation as being +3°C and freeze operation as being -18°C. Bespoke conversions for deep freeze (-25°C) and heat/cool operation (up to +20°C) are available on request.
The GAH SRF271e Fully Electric Fridge System comes with Standby as standard, this allows you to run the fridge system via the electric mains, good practice particulary on an electric fridge van is to pre-chill the fridge section, this will help to extend the range of the Electric van as the hard work of getting the initial temperature down is not performed by the traction batteries.
Fridge and Conversion Specification:
This new refrigerated van by CoolVan is insulated by traditional methods using high density styrofoam throughout overlayed on plywood with fibreglass and resin. Finished in white walls with a light grey floor to form a joint free, impervious surface. The van has a recessed LED interior light operated from door openings. The doors are insulated and then finished in white GRP.

One popular additional extra is the electric plug-in facility known as Standby. This is normally single phase (standard domestic supply @ 230v) but we can specify 3-phase standby if so requested. Please note that most refrigeration systems will only operate with the vehicle engine operating. Standby allows the operator to pre-cool the load space and to use the vehicle for storage if so required. THIS IS AT AN ADDITIONAL COST to the above prices so please ask us to quote
