This Custom isn’t just for Christmas

December 21, 2023 / 1 Comments / 249 /

Christmas looks to have come early here at CoolVan HQ.

Ford Motor Company have very kindly delivered the first batch of the Brand New Ford Transit Customs we have ordered.

Now we have finally seen the van in the flesh we are very excited, it really does look superb, you can still tell its a Ford and a Custom at first glance but it has really evolved in to a very classy looking vehicle.

The standard specification has gone up a notch too, the Leader model which you would normally describe as the basic one is anything but with electric windows, remote central locking, keyless start,  Auto LED headlamps including auto high beam, a fanstastic looking and very functional 13″ touch screen all coming fitted as standard. On top of this it has a whole array of safety features including Cruise control with intelligent speed limiter, lane keeping aid, speed sign recognition, wrong way alert, reverse sensors and a collision mitgation system.

Pushing our ready to roll programme to another level in 2024 you could be driving a new Ford Transit Custom fridge van as early as the middle of January, or you could get your order in ready for the new 24 registration in March.

The All New Ford Transit Custom is available for outright purchase or we could tailor a finance package to suit you.

For more information please feel free to use our Livechat, complete an enquiry form or give us a call. we would love to hear from you

Are you ready for London’s new ULEZ?

December 10, 2020 / 1 Comments / 2234 /

If you drive a refrigerated van in and around Central London you will know about the Ultra Low Emission Zone or ULEZ, but did you know that this ULEZ will be expanded on the 25th October 2021?

In case you haven’t heard of the ULEZ it is a defined area in which all vehicles that drive inside this area will have to meet strict emission standards or will have to face a daily charge. The current area is exactly the same as the congestion charge, except it operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year except for Christmas day

This is the current ULEZ Zone:                 A map of the current ulez

And This is the ULEZ zone come October 25th 2021

As you can see the area is substantially larger now covering the North and South circular.

If you don’t have a qualifying fridge van the charge will be £12.50 per day.

Diesel vans that have a minimum emission standard of Euro 6 will be exempt from the ULEZ charge and a vehicle that is Euro 5 or under will have to pay the charge. You can check if your vehicle is exempt from the ULEZ by clicking here

All the fridge vans that we sell here at CoolVan are brand new vehicles so will always have the latest emission requirements. We can supply nearly all makes and models and because we convert the vans here on site it can be tailor-made to suit the temperature you require and the product you carry.

We can even arrange financing if required.

All the Euro 6.2 low emmision vans we sell can be found here.

We even offer zero emmision vans and are the forefront of testing the new refrigeration technologies available.

For any more information on our ULEZ qualifying vans please feel to call us or contact us through our excellent live chat system

Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone

February 13, 2020 / 0 Comments / 2634 /

Photo of a vehicle polluting the atmosphere

Great Manchester has announced it has plans to introduce a Clean Air Zone, this is to try and reduce the amount of pollution in the air such as harmful nitrogen Dioxide and particulates.

This will mean that drivers or owners of the most polluting non compliant vehicles would have to pay a daily charge to drive on the local roads in Greater Manchester.

If your refrigerated van is under 3.5 tonne Gross Vehicle Weight with a Euro 5 or earlier diesel engine then you are likely to be subject to the proposed daily charge that is to travel in the Clean Air Zone from 2023.

Euro 5 or earlier diesel engines are typically ones registered before September 2016. If you are unsure as to whether or not your vehicle is likely to be charged you can use this Vehicle Checker Link.

Charging for non compliant Light Goods Vehicles such as fridge vans that have a Euro 5 or earlier diesel engines is expected to be £7.50 per day.

Here is the Proposed Zone:

Greater Manchester are in the process of asking the government for a Clean Freight Fund, if this is granted then there is the potential of a scrappage scheme being announced, similar to the one available for people who enter or whose business is in the ULEZ in London. Here at CoolVan we will be keeping a close eye on this so we have all the information required when you call to enquire about replacing your old fridge van.

We are the leading seller of brand new refrigerated vans in the UK, these new refrigerated vans all come with the latest Euro 6.0 and 6.2 diesel engines, we are also at the forefront of the growing electric fridge van market, with a dedicated research and development department testing the best insulation, batteries and fridge systems to give you the best electric fridge van that we can.

London Scrappage Scheme

January 31, 2020 / 0 Comments / 2455 /

If you have a refrigerated van that does not meet the stricter ULEZ emission standards that were set last April then you will have been paying the daily charge whenever you enter the ULEZ Zone. To support businesses in the Capital the Mayor of London has launched a scrappage scheme to help improve London’s air quality. If you have a business that has a van that does not meet the ULEZ standards and is based in a London borough or the City of London or if your refrigerated van frequently goes into the ULEZ zone then you could be eligible to apply for funds to scrap your older vehicle to help you switch to a new cleaner vehicle.

The funds have recently been increased to up to £7000 so now is a better time than ever to change your old van for a brand new one. Not only will you be saving money by not having to pay the ULEZ charge, you can also get up to £7000 for your old tired fridge van. This will probably be a lot more than you would get as a part exchange and you will also make a saving on fuel as the latest vans are a lot more fuel efficient as well as being cleaner and better for the environment.

Although the scheme is something you have to apply for yourself, here at Coolvan we can help you with this and guide you to the correct website and forms you need to complete.
