The Early Years

Cool Van Limited has been established for almost 20 years. Founder and Managing Director, Chris Warburton has been involved in the refrigerated vehicle industry for most of his working life. After finishing his business degree he spent some time working at Heathrow Airport for Europcar, Europe's largest vehicle rental operation. When Europcar wouldn't make him MD he moved north and established a temperature controlled vehicle rental business, Cool it!, which was sold to BRS (part of Volvo AG) in 1999. He has even owned a "flat pack" insulated vehicle conversion company .

Recent History

In 2005, the business focus was changed to embrace the growing requirement for an alternative to the traditional process of ordering a fridge van. Cool Van brings all the constituent parts of a fridge van together in one transaction – historically the customer had to source a van and then send it away for conversion – a process fraught with delays, confusion and a general apathy from traditional van dealers.

CoolVan has grown consistently and moved to its present purpose-built site in October 2007.

No Kit Systems Here!

CoolVan carries out all the conversions in-house. We produce industry leading quality conversions with the highest performance levels. At the same time we have not lost sight of the requirements of our customers for speed and consistency. Having bought, sold and operated close to 5000 fridge vans over the past 25 years, we think we know a thing or two about them!

We use traditional methods to make a STRONG and DURABLE lining that will outlast the life of the van. Our conversions are totally watertight and fully jetwash-proof. Silicone and sealant are used sparingly and certainly not to hold a kit together!
